Joseph's Whetu Reflection

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is maths because of the Number of the day, it was so fun to do it the learning was not too hard and not to easy.

Something that has challenged me this term has been my writing it is pretty hard because I didn’t know what to write but I kept trying and thinking and I got it.

The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the paper planes one because I love making paper aeroplanes. It is so fun and my brother makes the best ones. I got my paper plane inside the hangar and on the runaway which got me lots of points.

The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was pretty much the art because it was so fun and relaxing. The art was fun because the Tapa cloths were cool to design and make patterns and colouring it in with sharpie made it stand out better,

An aim I have for my learning is being able to work with myself, to get my writing better so I need to keep trying and trying so I get better

egg creation

EGG CARTON CREATION

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons.

I used sharpies, paint, peace of the leftover of the carton, hairdryer, scissors, hot glue gun,

We had to do it individually because we were sposed to do it `by are self and everyone did it by there self.

It turned out not how I planed but really good I was just putting little designs on it to make it stand out too

Paper Plane

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of
paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.

Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be really easy but then I got my good
peace it was not that good.

I decided to use my own design because I have always done that way and it was so good
when I got it.

The hardest part was trying to get it to go my direction because it always went the other way so I
made these little stands on the side of it and it worked.

During our competition time, I managed to score 10 because I was so concentrated on where it was
going.

Whetu challenge

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper,
2 straws and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball
and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).

Today I worked with Patrick Janko And my self we were a really good team we tried and
tried but we couldn't get it. So we made are the tallest and then we got 95cm.

At first, we had trouble with stabling it because we tried to put the tennis ball on then I
t fell over and over.

The easiest thing was rolling the piece of paper because we were really relaxed while
we were doing it and it was fun.

The best part of our tower was the little tube because it was really stabling our tower.

Our tower looked really scrunchy it had a lot of paper on it and it was really fun to look at too.

In the end, we finally finished it and then we were happy.
